The Heart of Sports is a weekly sports talk radio show putting the focus on the emotion of winning, the pain of losing, the thrill of competing and the agony of fandom.
The show include conversations and interviews with guests and callers about the current sports news of the week along with an additional focus on sportsmanship, competitiveness, inclusion, discipline, commitment and the impact of sports on society and life.
Jeff Rutberg has been following Philly sports since 1959. That’s a lot of losing seasons for all 4 major sports teams, along with some championships here and there. About 10 years ago he was bitten by the “radio bug” and graduated from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting. A Masters prepared, Registered Nurse with 40 years of experience in a variety of health care settings, Jeff’s also hosted health talk programs.
Jason Springer has spent more hours than he can count watching, listening to, playing and discussing sports. A longtime fan of Philadelphia sports teams, his life has been shaped in part by both the agony and exhilaration of those allegiances. From attending events with family and friends, to watching on television, reading online, following on social media and listening on the radio, Jason has sought out available avenue to immerse himself in the world of sports. When he is not talking about or watching sports, Jason is the President of JRS Strategies, a full service communications and digital media consulting firm. Jeffrey Cohen has attended hundreds of sporting events all over North America, including the World Series, NCAA Basketball Championship, bowl games, Stanley Cup playoffs, NBA playoffs and countless Major League and Minor League Baseball games. He has also participated in youth sports, having coached baseball, basketball and hockey, giving him a unique perspective on the development of the athlete. In his “day job” he is a commercial litigator, counseling clients and handling matters including corporate/contract disputes and intellectual property (trademarks, copyrights and patents). Jeffrey started his legal career in Philadelphia and Bucks County, in a local firm and then a multinational law firm. He is currently a shareholder at the law firm of Flaster/Greenberg P.C., where he has worked for the past 15+ years, expanding his existing Philly practice to New Jersey and New York, as well as handling matters throughout the country.
